|| CIRCLES ||

Let us now examine these circles . It would be worthwhile , if the particular words which are to be used in this article are defined for elucidation .

Circle is a round figure which is surrounded by a line called circumference , inside which is a point which is at equal distance from any point on the circumference . This point is called " centre " and the line drawn from the centre to the circumference is called " radius " .

If the circle is very , very small , it may be reduced to a point only , as is shown in our figure in the beginning of this article . As the size of the radius increases , the area of the circle increases proportionately . The figure will , accordingly , show that a number of circles are included in the bigger circles .

You will thus see that as the distance of the centre from the circumference increases , the area of the circle also increases .

Here , you may please mark one more point . The point E is common to all the circles , while AEA , is a tangent touching all these circles . All the smaller circles are included in the bigger circle . Or , you may say that the circumference of the circle D , near the point E is situated between the bigger circle AEA and the smaller circle H .

We can say the same thing in other words that the circle D which is bigger than the circle H , is more inclined towards the bigger circle AEA .

Or , in other words , the circle D is more connected with the bigger circle AEA than the smaller circle H .

It means that the curvature of the circle D is less than that of the smaller circle H , and also the bigger circle D is more akin to the circle AEA , near the point E , as compared to the smaller circle H .

Similarly the curvature of the circle B is less than that of the circle D .

Also the circle B is more akin to and connected with the bigger circle AEA .

On the same principle , the still bigger circle are more akin to and connected with the bigger circle AEA at the point E .

The result of the examples of all these circles is that , at the point E , the biggest circle AEA is spreading its hands , to the right and to the left , to encircle all other smaller circles .

You may call it the circle of Love . As this circle of Love increases , its circumference tends to become a straight line . You can say , it takes the right or the straight path .

If you combine the two results , you will come to the conclusion that as the distance between the centre and the circumference increases , the size and the area of the corresponding circle also increases . The more the circle will increase , the more the circumference will resemble a straight line .

That may be interpreted to mean that , as and when your mind becomes broader and broader , you encircle with your Love and Affection more and more of the remaining world .

Ultimately , when the centre is at infinity , it is impossible to imagine or to measure the area of the circle . The circumference near the point E is now like a straight line with no curvature at all . Or , in other words , when the centre is at an infinity , the circle becomes a straight line .

For example , an orange is spherical . If we cut it into two halves , we will find two round circles . If we cut a watermelon , its circle will be bigger than that of the orange . Similarly , if we cut a Hinduana , the red-water melon , its circle will be bigger because the red-water melon itself is bigger than the ordinary ( water-melon ) , Kharbuza .

Now take the case of the earth . It is also spherical , like an orange or a water melon . But the difference is that comparatively , it is very very much bigger . If , however , we draw a line by walking on it , this line will not be a straight line , according to Mathematics . As a matter of fact , it would form an arc of a much bigger circle . Just as you get a curvature , when you draw a line on watermelon , so , too , you can never get a straight line , when drawn on the earth . It must be a curvature , though it may not look so to your physical eyes .

You might object that even a child would say that a straight line could be drawn on the earth . You might draw a straight line on the ground and show it to me or anybody . You might even show to anybody the straight roads passing through the markets .

You might say , " It is all wrong . Are the straight roads arcs ? Nonsense . "

You might conclude that by studying too much , one gets confused . That is why these Philosophers call this world as an illusion . They say that every thing is GOD and nothing but GOD . What a lie !

But , my dear friends , please listen .

Have patience . Do not be in a hurry , or you may not be able to understand it thoroughly . Perhaps you are tired of pondering over the Mathematical problems , and that is why you are getting impatient .

May you , therefore , be reminded of the fact that you belong to a country , where Mathematics was initiated and evolved .

You are the descendants of the Rishis who were always engrossed in high thinking . Philosophical investigation was food and drink to them . They enjoyed Philosophical analysis . You should not feel embarrassed , in discussing the complicated problems of Philosophy .

Now please listen attentively .

As a matter of fact , all the lines drawn on the earth are really parts of a big circle . They are arcs . But since earth is a big sphere , these lines only look like straight lines , though they really are the arcs of a big , circle . Walking on the earth is like the creeping of an ant on a big earthen pot . Its centre is not identified .

The seeing capacity being limited , one assumes that the lines drawn on the earth are like straight lines . This is the practical proof of the fact that the circumference of the circle , which has its centre at an unlimited distance , will look like a straight line .

Dear friend ! Just as a Mathematician can convince you that the round circumference of a big circle can look like a straight line , similarly , you can also be convinced that a foe can be a friend and that the slave can be a master .

Just as the brave do not lose courage in facing the adversities of this world , so , too , if you care to divert your energy of to your innerself , you will get immortality and eternal bliss .

In the words of a poet :

" The drops weep that they are away from the sea . Also the drops laugh at the sea that they are all water . In reality there is no duality . We are all GOD , but our thinking has made us separate . "
